LAB COFFEE Work Environment Review: Wi-Fi, Power Outlets, and Seating Explored
If you are looking for a place to get some laptop work done or need a quiet environment to focus around Hakata Station, “LAB COFFEE” is highly recommended.
Located on the second floor of the HOTEL CLIO COURT, this stylish cafe is integrated with a share-office and lounge space. After spending some time working here, I’ve put together an honest review of the Wi-Fi stability, availability of power outlets, and overall comfort for remote workers!

🚀 Key Highlights from My Visit
1. Reliable and Smooth Wi-Fi Connection
The cafe provides its own dedicated free Wi-Fi. The SSID (HAKATALAB-Cafe) and password are clearly displayed on small signs around the seating area, allowing you to connect your devices immediately without any hassle.
2. Need to Charge? Head Straight for the Window Counter!
This is the most critical point for digital nomads: Power outlets (2-plug sockets) are exclusively located at the counter seats facing the window.
For this session, I secured a window counter seat and ordered an iced cafe latte paired with a rich matcha Basque cheesecake. The wet wipe came with a cute hand-drawn illustration and a “Thank you” note—a heartwarming little detail that brings a smile during a quick work break.
⚠️ Important Note: The large wooden sharing table in the center
If your laptop battery is running low or you plan on a long, heavy work session, make sure to secure one of those high-chair counter seats along the window as soon as you arrive.
3. Thoughtful Touches for Remote Workers
They provide large woven storage baskets under the seats that can easily fit a backpack or a business bag. Not having to put your valuable laptop bag directly on the floor is a small but much-appreciated detail.
📌 Access & How to Find the Entrance
The cafe is located inside the “HOTEL CLIO COURT” building. Look for the large column wrap advertisements near the hotel entrance showing the LAB COFFEE sign.
Head inside the hotel and make your way up to the 2nd floor. You will find a sleek glass door entrance marked “HAKATA LAB / LAB COFFEE” with an “OPEN NOW” sign. Walk right in, head to your left, and the spacious cafe area will open up before you.
📝 Verdict: Who is this cafe best for?
Anyone looking for a quiet, hidden-gem cafe to do laptop work right next to Hakata Station.
Nomads who require a stable, seamless Wi-Fi connection.
People who enjoy working in bright spaces with a view to refresh their eyes during breaks.
As long as you choose your seat wisely according to your battery needs, LAB COFFEE offers an exceptionally comfortable and productive remote work experience. Definitely add this to your list of go-to workspaces in Hakata!
