Don’t Buy Tickets! How to Ride Fukuoka Subway with Visa Touch
The 660 Yen Magic Rule
Once you arrive at the subway station, stop!
Please read this post before buying a paper ticket.

Take a look at the fare map above. It shows the ticket prices for each station.
As you can see, if you plan to travel around the city and your total fare will exceed 660 yen, do not buy a paper ticket!
※The ¥660 unlimited ride pass is valid only on the subway. JR and Nishitetsu are not included, so please take care when traveling🐤
Just use your Visa contactless card at the gate. It automatically stops charging you once you reach the 660 yen limit for the day, making it the smartest and cheapest way to explore Fukuoka!
Then, just walk straight ahead to the contactless‑payment ticket gate shown in the photo below.

Simply tap your VISA card on this sensor.
Just look at the floor before the ticket gates! You will see these bright blue signs saying “Tap to ride.” Fukuoka Subway accepts Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, Diners Club, Discover, and UnionPay.

Since the main events and coworking hubs will be easily accessible via the subway line, staying near key stations like Hakata, Tenjin, or Nishijin is the smartest move to save time and transportation costs (thanks to the 660 yen Visa tap cap!).
